Fruit Pies

Just as their name suggests, these pies are made with fruit. What’s your favorite fruit? Throw it in a pie. You really can’t go wrong with this one.

savory pie

Savory Pies

Savory pies are typically meat pies, or pot pies such as a chicken pot pie or a steak and kidney pie. Mmm…pie…

top crust pie

Top Crust

This type of pie has its filling on the bottom and some variety of crust or topping to cover the top only. An example of this would be a cobbler or a crumble.

filled pie

Filled Pie

A filled pie is the reverse of a top crust. It has a pastry or crust on the bottom with the filling on top such as a pumpkin or pecan pie.

two crust pie

Two-Crust Pie

These pies have both a top and bottom crust. The top can be a lattice style or a full crust. People often use cookie cutters to cut shapes in the top crust, which allows steam to escape and also adds a decorative flair.
